The Ponies

We took a trip down to Griffith Park in LA. Griffith Park is an amazing park in the heart of Los Angeles that reminds me of my childhood. It was a place I loved to come to as a kid. At Griffith Park you can find many fun things to do but we went for.....the PONIES! Nina's new obsession is ponies. She apparently fights all of the kids in nursery at church for the wooden stick with a pony head attached. She gallops around on it the whole time. All of the dolls she has ride the other stuffed animals like ponies. So, we had to take her down to have a go on them herself.

Right next to the ponies is a little train that we took a ride on.

Here we are on the train. Please try to overlook my horrible posture. It becomes even worse when I have a baby slung around my shoulders.

The train ride. I can't believe how strawberry blonde Nina's hair looks in the sun.

Back in the saddle again. The huge smile on her face says it all.

An action shot of the pony ride. I love how they just strap them on , as young as a year old, and send them off. Needless to say, Nina was in heaven and hasn't stopped talking about it since.

Hoppy Easter!

We had a great Easter this year. It was really fun to get Nina excited for the Easter Bunny, but more importantly, it was great to teach her about the Resurrection. She is such a little sponge and it really is amazing how much she understands.

Nina was very excited to see what the Easter Bunny brought her. She was lucky enough to get the movie "Tangled" and a Cinderella doll. We are going through a bit of a princess stage at our house. (Something entirely new and foreign for Tyson)

This is how Evie spent the morning. This girl knows how to sleep in.

Nina had a blast looking for eggs. She was truly savoring the experience. With every egg she found. She would stop, open it, dump the candy in her basket, and eat an M & M or two. Tyson wanted her to speed it up, but I liked how she appreciated every little thing.

So, Nina ended up sneaking a little more candy than she was supposed to. I didn't put the candy up high enough and she ate an entire chocolate bunny while Tyson and I were getting ready for the day. A little later that morning she ended up getting car sick and she ended up throwing up the entire bunny. (She really must take after her Uncle Brandon!) We just happened to be two hours away from home, but luckily there was a Target nearby!

Dying Eggs

Holidays have become so much fun around our house. Nina gets so excited about everything to do with them and looks forward to them for weeks. The holidays are once again "magical" for us and we love it. Easter was no exception and it was a true blast for us.

He she is, very intently, dying easter eggs.

Nina had a great time coloring on eggs with the "magic crayon" and putting stickers on them when it was all said and done.

Here we are being silly.

2 months

Wow, that was the fastest two months of my life. "Little Peanut" is growing up way too fast. She already seems so much older. We absolutely love having this little girl around. Here are a few facts about Evie:

Things she likes:

• eating (she does this several times a day and night)
• the ceiling fan
• Tyson (I think he may be her favorite even after all I've done for her ;) )
• snuggling
• bath time (she is so calm and content in the water)
• being outside, going for walks

Things she doesn't like:

• eating from a bottle
• sleeping more than 3 hours at a time
• tummy time
• Target (she always screams when we go there)

Isn't she the cutest thing you've ever seen??

CALM Zoo

Just a fun day at the local zoo. Just local rescued animals...bobcats, mountain lions, bald eagles, bears, etc. The girls and I had a good time and the weather was GORGEOUS!

We rode the train they have. Nina loves trains. One of her favorite shows is "Thomas and Friends". I personally find it quite creepy.

Feeding and petting the goats and sheep is a must, now that she's not afraid of the animals anymore.

Oh, and she was there too. She enjoyed napping in the stroller.

One month

Evie is officially one month old (has been for 2 weeks now). I love how she is responding more to us. She will occasionally give us a huge, toothless smile and makes the cutest facial expressions. She is usually pretty content but loves to be held and snuggled. Nina is adjusting to having less attention and is super cute with Evie. She gets concerned when Evie cries and will put her binky back in and sing to her. Tyson and I are still trying to adjust to two children. Our house is usually cluttered and we have been eating a lot at the local fast food restaurants. (No wonder I can't lose this baby weight) We can't believe how much Evie has grown already.

Her 4-week stats:

8 pounds 4 ounces

21 inches

The girls got to hang out with their darling cousin Billy before he left us for Utah.

The girls in their matching dresses. Evie is so wide eyed when she's awake. She's soaking all the madness in.

Nina wanted to play dolls with Evie. She is really looking forward to have someone to play with.

Hole in one

Last month Tyson participated in a golf tournament called "JJ's Legacy". His work sponsored a team and Tyson was asked to join at the last minute. Luckily he had time off for baby bonding. He did amazing considering it was his first tournament. He won new shoes for longest putt, $150 at the pro shot for closest to the pin, and........A NEW CAR for getting a hole in one! It was one of those things that is surprising and exciting and you don't expect to happen.

Unfortunately we didn't have a need for three cars and we had to sell our little Honda Civic. We loved that car and had a lot of great memories, including taking Nina home from the hospital and a couple of cross-country trips. We'll miss you little "Civi".
