You-Tah

We took the classic trip up the 15 to visit our friends and family in Utah. Tyson had a few days in between his old ICU night job and his new OR day job, so we decided to pull a quick trip to Utah. We are still trying to forget about the drive home and may need some therapy to recover from it, but we had an absolute blast in Utah and will focus on all the great things we got to do there.
What could be greater than hanging out with Aunt Gentlemen (Jennalyn). Nina just loves playing with her and we still miss her and Kevin and wish they could live with us again.
C'mon, is there anything cuter than these two?? We are sad they live so far away now.
Nina loves playing with Billy and all of his awesome toys. I actually think I had more fun playing with all their "Tickle me" toys than anyone else.
We got to spend a little bit of time with our friends, the Bilbao family. They have a new baby girl that was born about a week before Susie. Here are the two guys (friends since elementary school) together with their little girls.
Nina had a blast playing with Cody.
The two baby girls were instant friends.
We got to visit my Grandma Wood and her new, beautiful house in Kaysville. I love this picture of the three of them.
Visited Temple Square and ran into my sister Bridget, who is serving a mission there. We ran into her in the Tabernacle and got a wonderful tour from her about families. It was such a neat experience to see her on her mission and see what a wonderful sister missionary she is.
Lindsey and Brandon were nice enough to entertain us at their apartment in Salt Lake. They took us to an amazing Greek restaurant and treated us to cake balls after. We love those guys!
Grandma Connie (Tyson's grandma) came out from Altamont to visit with us. Here is a picture of Grandma Peggy, Grandma Connie and the girls at our favorite buffet, Chuck-a-rama.
A group shot of all of us. I just love Nina in the bottom corner. This is definitely how she felt by the end of the week.
All in all, the horrible drive home was worth every second we got to spend with our wonderful family and friends and worth all the delicious food we ate at all our favorite restaurants. Oh how we miss you already!

Memorial Day

We were lucky enough to spend Memorial Day with a lot of our family this year. We went down to Eternal Valley in Santa Clarita, where they had a nice Memorial Day program. My dad and brother Kevin sang in the choir and did an amazing job. Afterward we visited my mom's grave and left some flowers. It was so nice to have a day to remember the sacrifices of those fighting for our freedom. We were once again reminded of how lucky and blessed we are to be citizens of the United States.

Nina was actually willing to show a nice cheesy smile.
It was so great to have our siblings from Utah there. Here is a cute picture of Billy, Tom, and Mayer.

3 months

Wow, time flies when you're having fun! I can't think of anything more fun than being with this little peanut and Nina. Our little baby is still as sweet as can be. Even though we have been through this once before, it still amazes us at how fast they grow. I mean c'mon, aren't you in love with this sweet little face too?Things about me at 3 months:
  • I can smile back at you
  • I can have a "conversation" with you (she loves to babble back and forth)
  • I've rolled over a few times from my belly to my back
  • I have completely stolen the heart of all of my family members

The Ponies

We took a trip down to Griffith Park in LA. Griffith Park is an amazing park in the heart of Los Angeles that reminds me of my childhood. It was a place I loved to come to as a kid. At Griffith Park you can find many fun things to do but we went for.....the PONIES! Nina's new obsession is ponies. She apparently fights all of the kids in nursery at church for the wooden stick with a pony head attached. She gallops around on it the whole time. All of the dolls she has ride the other stuffed animals like ponies. So, we had to take her down to have a go on them herself.
Right next to the ponies is a little train that we took a ride on.
Here we are on the train. Please try to overlook my horrible posture. It becomes even worse when I have a baby slung around my shoulders.
The train ride. I can't believe how strawberry blonde Nina's hair looks in the sun.
Back in the saddle again. The huge smile on her face says it all.
An action shot of the pony ride. I love how they just strap them on , as young as a year old, and send them off. Needless to say, Nina was in heaven and hasn't stopped talking about it since.

Hoppy Easter!

We had a great Easter this year. It was really fun to get Nina excited for the Easter Bunny, but more importantly, it was great to teach her about the Resurrection. She is such a little sponge and it really is amazing how much she understands.
The first Fieldsted family photo since little Evie was born.
Nina was very excited to see what the Easter Bunny brought her. She was lucky enough to get the movie "Tangled" and a Cinderella doll. We are going through a bit of a princess stage at our house. (Something entirely new and foreign for Tyson)

This is how Evie spent the morning. This girl knows how to sleep in.
Nina had a blast looking for eggs. She was truly savoring the experience. With every egg she found. She would stop, open it, dump the candy in her basket, and eat an M & M or two. Tyson wanted her to speed it up, but I liked how she appreciated every little thing.
So, Nina ended up sneaking a little more candy than she was supposed to. I didn't put the candy up high enough and she ate an entire chocolate bunny while Tyson and I were getting ready for the day. A little later that morning she ended up getting car sick and she ended up throwing up the entire bunny. (She really must take after her Uncle Brandon!) We just happened to be two hours away from home, but luckily there was a Target nearby!
