Our Little Star

One of our favorite Christmas traditions in the St. Philip's Christmas Pageant at the kids' preschool.  Nina was in it two years.  One year she was the innkeeper's wife and the second year she was a star.  Last year Susie was a bunny and this year she got to be one of the "Main Stars".  They narrate the nativity story and the kids sing songs.  Susie was really excited to be a star with her good friend Maya and wear a such a pretty dress for it.  It was so fun to overhear her singing and practicing in the weeks ahead in her sweet little voice.  She wasn't nervous at all to be in front of a huge crowd of people and did a great job singing and "shining" like the little star she is.

We are so blessed to have such wonderful, supportive family in town who come to all of the events and activities our children do.  Grandma, grandpa, Kevin, Jennalyn, Zeke and Eloise all came out to support Susie in her "starring" role.

In the run through of the pageant they didn't realize that Susie could barely see over the stable wall.  She is just such a tiny little girl and her head was barely popping over the top the whole time.

Cooling off

Nothing beats getting out the hose on a hot pre-summer day.  It's amazing how entertaining and fun water can be.  Aah, the simple pleasures in life!

Round Table Pizza field trip

We took a fun field trip to Round Table Pizza with Nina's preschool class.  The girl's got a behind the scenes peek on how they prep the food and actually got to help make some things as well.
Here is Nina squishing some pizza dough.
Nina got to help put pepperoni on one of the pizzas.  She's an awesome kitchen helper.
Here she is prepping potato wedges.
The best part was enjoying all of their hard work.  It sure was yummy!
Our preschool group.  These ladies and their kids are the greatest.
Trying out the fun things from the goodie bag.
 Having fun at the arcade.

Repurposing Project

I tried my hand at a repurposing project.  I had a blue striped shirt and a red shirt and made skirts for the little girls.  Too bad I didn't take a "before" picture.  Anyways, here is an after shot of the girlies in their skirts.
Guess it was a long day for this one.  We found her sleeping like this in the hallway.

Shopping buddies

As much as I dread grocery shopping, I couldn't ask for a better pair to shop with.  Here's documentation of a trip to Sam's.
 LOVE these little faces!

Decorating Eggs

This year we dyed our Easter eggs with Kool-aid.  It was a great way to go.  It smelled great and the colors turned out great.
Nothing beats Susie's body language and expression in this picture!  She was mesmerized by the whole process.

Grandma even got in on the decorating fun.

A trip to Grandma Lemmon's

One of my all-time favorite places to visit is Grandma Lemmon's in Los Osos.  I have so many great memories there and it is so fun having my children to make new memories there in some of my favorite places.
My grandma was watching a little girl that week during her spring break so she brought over her huge horse.  Nina was beyond delighted.
Here we are at Montana de Oro playing with the rocks on the beach.
Susie did not hesitate to join in the fun.

No trip is complete without a visit to feed the sea lions and see the aquarium in Morro Bay.
We visited Cal Poly to see all the animals and it was the perfect time to go.  There were tons of baby animals and we even saw a baby horse being born!

We headed over to beautiful Avila Beach and went on the pier.
